Track Name: Far Side of Town
Far Side of Town (Matt Minglewood)

I heard songs about trouble and strife
And I heard songs about pain
I heard a song about a man and his wife
She won't be back again
I heard a son about a man gone wrong
And I've sang a few about someone who lay dying
But I never thought I'd hear myself
Singing about your cheating and your lying

Now I heard it said that the world's a stage
We must play out part
Every time I turn the page
You tore into my heart
Now I feel like a playwright
Stuck in the daylight
Trying to find a way to keep from crying
Cause he never thought he'd see himself
Writing about your cheating and your lying

CHORUS
On the far side of town
You lay your body down
For someone you don't even want to know
Just a thrill for the night
Still can make it right
Though you try hard you never let it show
Oh but I know

REPEAT CHORUS TWICE

What's going on
On the far side of town
What's going on
On the far side of town
Track Name: Daughter of the Night
Daughter of the Night (Minglewood, MacDonald, Leslie, Lee)

I met her at the bar called the Wondering Star
Saw my life in her eyes
She was the devil's daughter with words like water
And I drank up all of her lies
She said I was the only one never more the lonely one
She took me upstairs for a ride
She knew how to move me, reach me and soothe me
And I had nowhere to hide

CHORUS
She was the daughter of the night
Sister to my soul
Her guiding light
Leads me to my home

She gave me her night but the morning light
Showed me that the girl was gone
I had been bought and sold
With nobody left to hold
Just the cold, cold dawn
I knew right away, I had me my match
This was one girl I would never catch
She was the one and only daughter of the night
Sister to my soul

REPEAT CHORUS TWICE

She gave me her night but the morning light
Showed me that the girl was gone
I had been bought and sold
With nobody left to hold
Just the cold, cold dawn
I knew right away, I had met my match
This was one itch I would never scratch
She was the one and only daughter of the night
Sister to my soul

She was the one and only daughter of the night
Sister to my soul
Track Name: I Don't Have the Blues
I Don't Have The Blues (Lee/Minglewood)

I've always known life has its ups and downs
It's been so long now darlin' I've been wearing this big old frown
Seems like forever since I had a good time
I even had to fool a few friends of mine

When you're on the bottom you can't even buy luck
Especially when you're down to your very last buck
Whenever someone asks me was I doing okay
I 'd lie right in their face and then I'd fade away
Hard luck and trouble had a hold on me
I did not need your third degree

CHORUS
There was a whole lot of lovin' that was passing me by
Well I was too blue to see it
Even when you looked me in the eye
Felt like I was living in a great black hole
The music I was playing didn't have no soul
But since you left me baby one things for sure
I don't have the blues no more

Now I go rockin', rockin' down life's highway
Now when I pick up this old guitar
I really know how to play
But the boys in the band are really grinning tonight
With a rock n' roll party till the broad daylight
Well it's such a funky feeling I can hardly believe it
I've got an ace up my sleeve and I don't even need it

Yip, Yip, Yip I don't need no pills
Yup, Yup, Yup you have cured my ills
Since you left me baby one things for sure
I don't have the blues no more

REPEAT CHORUS

I don't have the blues
I don't have the blues
I don't have the blues
I don't have the blues

Since you left me baby
I don't have the blues no more
Track Name: Me & The Boys
Me & The Boys (Matt Minglewood)

Remember back when we were young
And all the crazy things that we've done
Me and the boys out skipping school
Back on the hill acting a fool
Yes, it's so easy to remember when
Everything was so simple then
We never worry about the money that we spend
When you ain't got no money
You don't care where it went

In the summer days when there were no courses
Up at the creek just riding the horses
Acting out westerns that we had seen
Down at the theater on the movie screen
One year later felt 5 years older
With the girls we were getting bolder
Nighttime down at the railroad yard
Awkward moves, God it was hard
But it sure was fun

CHORUS
Feel the wind running through our hair as we ride
Running so fast that not even time can hold us
Young and free we had nothing to hide
Doing all those things that nobody just could not hold us
Me and the boys
Me and the boys
Me and the boys

Cruising in a 57 Dodge
The boys all checking out the noisy rod
Backyard mechanics each and every one
It was greasy work but God it was fun
We got her rolling down the 104
She's working better than she did before
Half a tank and we're on our way
Heading for a week-end holiday

REPEAT CHORUS

Me and the boys, nobody told us
Me and the boys, nobody told us
When we were young
When we were young
Me and the boys
Me and the boys
Track Name: Georgia on a Fast Train
Georgia on a Fast Train (Shaver)

It was a rainy Wednesday morning
That's the day that I was born in
That old sharecroppers one room country shack
They say my mama left me the day before she had me
They say she hit the road and never once looked back
Well I'd just like to mention
My old grandma's pension
Is the reason that I'm standing here today
I got all my country learning, milking and a churning,
Picking cotton, raising hell and baling hay

CHORUS
I've been to Georgia on a fast train honey
I was'nt born no yesterday
I got a good Christian raising
I got an eighth grade education
Ain't no need of ya all treating me this way

Well sweet Carolina
I don't guess I'll ever find
Another woman put together like you are
Well with your wiggle and your walkin'
And your fancy city talking
And your brand new shiny Plymouth ragtop car
Well it's hurry up and wait
In the world of give and take
It seems like haste makes for waste every time
I do declare to my soul
When you see aces roll
You know I'm going to get my share of mine

REPEAT CHORUS 3 TIMES
Track Name: Beg, Borrow & Steal
Beg, Borrow and Steal (Matt Minglewood)

Baby, saw you just the other night
Baby, girl you're such a ugly sight
You're running with the rounders on the wrong side of town
Everybody knows you've been dragging my poor name down
You've got me running, hiding peeping in the drug stores too
I'll tell you little darlin' what I'll do about you

CHORUS
I'm gonna beg, borrow, steal somebody else's love
I'm gonna beg, borrow, steal some love tonight

Baby, saw you again today
Baby, you were in an awful way
Seven come eleven with the dice on the table
You said we could be lovers but I don't think you are able
I got my clutch on the floor; I just rammed it in gear
I got a grin on my face from ear to ear

REPEAT CHORUS 4 TIMES
Track Name: Crossroads - Four O'Clock in the Morning
Crossroads (James/Ripley/Ripley)

Standing at the crossroads with my heart right in my hand
Standing at the crossroads with my heart right in my hand
My true lovin' baby has gone and found herself another man
Standing here crying, look at the tears rollin' down my face
Standing out on the highway crying, look at the tears rollin' down my face
My true lovin' baby has gone and found another man and has got him in my place

Matt's Thoughts on the Matter (Matt Minlgewood)

Well there I was out on the highway with my heart right in my hand. All because that little woman of mine found herself with another man. Oh, I was out there on the highway with the rain coming down, the tears rollin' down my face, and she was back there with some other guy in my place. You know back in my apartment, that I paid good money, for with some other guy.

I thought about this particular situation and I had me a revelation. I said F#*# this shit and I walked across the highway and I hitchhiked right back into town. I mean I walked up the steps of my own apartment, where I use to live, and there they were right on my own living room floor, right on that brand new shag carpet, with sponge underlay. That was just put down last week, cost me $752.25 dollars plus tax and I don't have to tell you what they were doing.

John, what were they doing? They were screwing, I knew that as soon as I seen it. I'd seen it before and at that moment, I remember the words of my good buddies – Gary and Blair McLean of McLean and McLean. I walked over there and I kicked him right in the BALLS, and he went down the stairs CRYING. Now, I'm not into hitting women or anything, I don't believe in that sort of stuff, but I thought she deserved a little pat on the BUTT, so I gave her one. She went down the stairs CRYING.

As they were going down the road wrapped in nothing but an old blanket they found at the bottom of the steps that my dog, Snortin' Norton, sleeps on. I opened up the window and said " Hey darlin, there's one more thing I got to say, I'm not quite finished yet. You know the way you've been running round, running round every time I turn my back, laying some other man down." She said " Ya". Well we're going to change all that, you see darlin', I'm going to take all my money out of the bank, I'm going to gas up my 1965 Cadillac, Coup De Ville, with one missing fender skirt, call all my good time rowdy buddies and tell them to get the parties going because Matt Minglewood is going on a roll.

That's just what they did until 3 or 4 days in a row now. I've been running around, toking, drinking just partying down. She's been calling up all the time asking, "Where's Matt! Let me talk to him" I said, "No, I don't want to talk to that bitch". About the fourth day, I said, "Give me the phone". She wants to know what I'm doing. Darlin' you want to know what I'm doing. I'm going to tell you right now, what I'm doing. Let me put it to you this way.

Four O'Clock in the Morning (James/Ripley/Ripley)

CHORUS
Four o'clock in the morning
Three nights in a row
The way that I'm feeling
Don't feel one bit low
Got my motor running
Two more places left I got to go
Four o'clock in the morning
Three nights in a row

REPEAT CHORUS

Four o'clock in the morning
Three nights in a row
Track Name: Sooner or Later
Matt Minglewood)

We've been down, just a little too long
It could have been right, oh but it turned out wrong
But you and I, we've been through that
A dozen times or more
Sooner or later we're going to know the score

We've been in, when we should have been out
Left us all in a shadow of a doubt
Now it seems all our broken dreams they'll just fade away
Sooner or later it's going to be okay

CHORUS
Sooner or later we're going to win
And we'll fly like eagles in the wind
The doors will all be open
And we can walk right in
Sooner or later we're going to win

We've been down just a little bit way too long
It could have worked out all right
But it turned out wrong
You and I we've been through this a hundred times or more
And sooner or later, we're going to know the score

REPEAT CHORUS

Sooner or later
Sooner or later
Sooner or later
Sooner or later
We're gonna to win
We're gonna to win
Yes, we're gonna win
Yes, we're gonna win
We're gonna win
